So while Paracus is going through a deep scrubbing, I’ve been working on the currently untitled sequel. It definitely feels like a daunting task because while I know what happens next, I am not sure how I want to write it. Currently I am working on the scene outline of the story while also doing research.
Curious as to where I got this awesome background? If you look at my gallery, there is a link to the artist. Jorge was nice enough to accept my commission and bring my descriptions to life in this dark and iconic scene to the novel. I’m hoping to work with him again in March for another piece of artwork.
The re-release will happen sometime in March depending on how long the scrubbing takes. It will fix various technical issues I found throughout the book. It’s always frustrating when you go back through and find something you did wrong even though you believed you got it right the first time. Writers are notoriously bad at editing their own work because we already know how the story falls into place and we get tunnel vision when actually writing it down on paper. I also hope to add something a little extra to the re-release as well, but I’ll go more into that as the time draws near.
I’m hoping to enter Paracus in another competition once it’s been re-released. I will also post updates on what’s going on with it and its sequel. For those following my blog, feel free to contact me anytime if you want to chat about your work. I love talking about writing and would be more than happy to hear you talk about yours. I find that peer feedback or simply just having someone there to listen as you ramble on about your ideas can lead to inspiration. On more than on occasions I’ve shattered writer’s block simply by talking to a friend about it. Until then, keep that pen moving!
